Influenster Holiday VoxBox 2012 Review

I received the Holiday VoxBox 2012 from Influenster, complimentary for testing, that included these products: Quaker Real Medleys Oatmeal, NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine, Kiss Nail Dress, EBOOST, Good QuikStyle Brush, Sole Society coupon code, and Montagne Jeunesse Face Mask.

Quaker Real Medleys Oatmeal
I received the Summer Berry Oatmeal, which had blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries. I was initially very excited to try it because I like their other flavored instant oatmeal, but I couldn't finish this one. It was way too sweet. I was surprised because I have massive sweet tooth, but couldn't handle this. This is usually $1.79/cup. It's 250 calories with 14g of sugar. I like the concept though because you can easily take this on the go. I have their lower sugar instant packets that I use with a travel container.

NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine
I received the Nude York City 582. It is 0.24fl oz and comes with the usual wand. Nude York City is a glittery nude color (lightish brown). It smells like holiday mocha, yummy. On the product itself, it says "Non Sticky" and on the Influenster description card it says, "The non-sticky formula creates the ultimate creamy and soft textured feel." Well, it's actually very sticky. It reminds me of MAC glosses in terms of stickiness. It's not something you want to wear on a windy day without your hair secured away from your face. It is creamy and glides on smoothly. It is usually $2.49.

Kiss Nail Dress
I received the Kiss Nail Dress in Babydoll and I loved it. Once you get the hang of it, it was easy to apply. The instructions tell you to just shape it down using a nail file, but I ended up cutting the excess off first before filing down the edges. I didn't mind the extra steps because I saved the excess to use another time! The design itself was gorgeous. I love the 3D jewels.

The product says it lasts up to 10 days. Mine lasted around 5 days before the edges started to peel and hair strands started to get caught underneath the jewels. One of them did chip after 1 day, and after around 2 days, I noticed that two to three of the jewels had fallen off. It was noticeable though. Removal was easy, but it damaged my nails a tiny bit.

Tip: Do NOT use a topcoat. It will wrinkle it! Notice the pinky finger (pic above).

I received the EBOOST in pink lemonade. When I first added it to the water, it foamed like nobody's business. Mix, mix, mix! The drink was cloudy. It tasted like a sweeter seltzer water with a chemical additive. It didn't taste like "Natural Pink Lemonade flavor." Although, pink lemonade isn't natural in the first place.

This sells for $28 for a box o 20 powder packets. The Influenster description card says that this "will boost your mood, focus, and immunity with natural ingredients and no crash."

I did boost my focus. I was feeling groggy when I took this and it's like my mind perked up. But I couldn't finish it because of the taste.

Goody QuikStyle Brush (Half Round Styler)
I was very excited to try this brush because I had seen it in Target. It was "super absorbent microfiber bristles [that] removes up to 30% of water as you style. It's like a towel and a brush in one." The concept's great, but I didn't notice any faster drying time.

I have very long hair, and as you can see in the picture, long hair tends to shed a lot. This is the biggest downfall I've encountered with this brush. It was harder to clean because of the microfiber bristles. With my other brushes, I just yank the hair out. But I can't with this one because I don't want to destroy the microfiber bristles. The tangled mess was also messier.

In general, it's a nice brush. Maybe for shorter hair, the drying time would be noticeable, but it wasn't for me. Oh, I was also concerned about lingering smell that might get trapped in the microfiber, but there was none! This is usually $11.99.

Montagne Jeunesse Face Masks
I receive the face mask in Willow & Aloe Vera. I love love love Montagne Jeunesse Face Masks. They have many different kinds, and the one I received was just as lovable. It smelled great, applied easily, and made my face feel clean and smooth. This is usually under $2.

Sole Society
I received a $25 off your first purchase code from Sole Society. I didn't use the code because I found their shoes expensive even with the code. But they have many cute shoes to choose from.

Overall, this was a great voxbox with wonderful products.
