Students Sent Home For Patriotic Clothes

Live Oak High School made a bad decision in a time when we need to keep students IN school. We all celebrate cultural holidays but we are all living in America. Those students should never have faced repercussions because they wore patriotic clothing, regardless of when they wore it. On the 4th of July, should anyone wearing clothing with flags from another country face repercussions? No. Keep students in school.

Food for thought: Cinco de Mayo only receives limited recognition and celebration in Mexico. The most important holiday is their independence day on Sept 16.
